INSP MIHAS 2025 Makes MITEC Debut, Welcoming Bigger Buyer Delegation

  • Following the success of INSP MIHAS 2024, which connected over 330 buyers from 53 countries and generated RM2.53 billion in sales, this year’s programme aims to attract a total of 450 buyers, comprising 250 buyers for the physical session,150 for the virtual session and 50 premium buyers.
  • MIHAS 2025, including INSP, is targeting RM4.5 billion in global halal trade sales and expects to welcome 45,000 visitors

KUALA LUMPUR, 26 June 2025 – The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) has announced that the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) will be held alongside the 21st Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2025), with the physical session taking place for the first time at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).

INSP MIHAS is a demand-driven initiative that connects international buyers with Malaysian exporters, leveraging MATRADE’s global network of 48 offices to facilitate targeted business matching and create export opportunities across 19 sectors.

In hybrid format, the virtual sessions will run from 1 April to 5 November, and the physical session will be held at MITEC on 17 September 2025 at MITEC.

Reflecting on last year’s achievements, MATRADE Chairman, Dato’ Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said:

“Building on the strong momentum of MIHAS 2024 which generated RM4.3 billion in sales and drew over 43,000 visitors from 90 countries, MIHAS 2025 is poised to reach new heights. With an ambitious target of RM4.5 billion in Halal trade and 45,000 international visitors, we are amplifying our global impact through smarter, tech-driven connections. At the heart of this is our AI-powered MADANI Digital Trade Platform, designed to enable seamless and strategic matchmaking with physical and virtual international buyers, reinforcing Malaysia’s position as a global leader in the Halal economy.

MATRADE Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz added: “The relocation to MITEC marks a bold new chapter for INSP MIHAS, reflecting Malaysia’s expanding influence in Halal trade. This year, MATRADE aims to:

  • Achieve global halal trade sales of RM4.5 billion and welcome 45,000 visitors
  • Feature 45 country pavilions, 1,700 exhibitors, and 2,380 booths
  • Attract 250 buyers for the physical session at MITEC, engage 150 buyers for the virtual session, leveraging the MDT platform and connecting 50 premium buyers for INSP

INSP MIHAS 2025 will include exporters across 19 sectors, including agricultural produce; apparel, garments and accessories; beverages; prepared food; gloves; palm oil products; pharmaceuticals, toiletries and cosmetics; machinery and equipment; gifts, souvenirs and jewellery; packaging and containers; pet products; fashion accessories and textiles; footwear; logistics; Islamic financial services; franchising; information and communication technology; Islamic entertainment; and education.

Companies interested in participating can register online or via the QR code in promotional materials.

The participation fee is RM120, which includes access to the MADANI Digital Trade (MDT) Platform, offering one-to-one business matching sessions and a digital directory listing to enhance global visibility.

Registration deadlines are 15 July 2025 for the physical session and 5 November 2025 for the virtual session.
